Introduction

Hello, this is Gortnamona National School’s project on Co-operation in Our Community. Having heard the story of the co-operative movement in Ireland, we decided to choose the Mid Offaly Housing Association as our subject for our project. We chose this group because they were a perfect example to show how people co-operated together to make life better for others. They built ten houses for the elderly, twelve houses for young families and now are planning to build a High Support Unit.

In this project you will read how we co-operated together by interviewing the committee, our families and the residents and how we co-operated together to make this project. I hope you will enjoy reading our project as much as we did making it.
