Computer Classes

One of the activities held in Ard Aoibhinn is computer classes. People who take part in the computer classes are between 7 and 85 years old. The adult classes are held every Wednesday morning and the children’s classes are held every Saturday morning. Sr. Mary and Ronnie Bryant set up the computer classes.
The adults go to the classes because their children know how to use a computer and they don’t. Ard Aoibhinn does not own the computers; they get them from a group in Ballycommon. They learn to type, go on the internet, make slide shows and animations. The computer classes are held in the community centre in Ard Aoibhinn and people go because it is accessible and at the right time. There are basic classes and intermediate classes. Basic classes are for beginners and intermediate classes are for people who want to learn about the internet. The children who go to the classes from Gortnamona N.S. are Stephen Bracken, Donal Bracken, Sarah Bracken, John Owens, Conor Owens, Orla Cooney, Michael Ryan and Diane Mahon.
Some parents and grandparents go, such as Judy Cooney, Bernie Ryan, Ann Curley, Sabrina Mahon and Teresa Mahon.
