Active Age Group

As we left Ard Aoibhinn, people from the active age group started to come in from all around the parish. They meet every Wednesday from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm to help them to become more active, to meet others and if they are lonely it is a great way to make new friends.
Before they start they have tea and biscuits and they talk. After that they play basketball with a net on the floor or they practice bowling with skittles, or they play ring toss. Other days they do knitting. Last year they knitted teddies and clothes for them and they sent them out to children in Africa. They also do art and crafts. Some of them do computer classes. A few years ago they wrote little books of their life stories. Some of them play whist. They go on outings such as to Knock or Lourdes. They go on summer outings and they also go bowling.
